DomainKeys Identified Mail

The RecMan system allows you to authenticate your email sendings with DKIM, adding a layer of security to all your correspondence.

To get the most out of DKIM, it should also be set up with SPF.

Setup

Go to System Settings → Email → DKIM.

This page contains all your DKIM records. It is also where you create new records. To create a new record, simply press the Create button.

DKIM

Domain: This is the domain to which the DKIM will belong. In this field, you enter the domain the email belongs to. I.e., if your corporation’s email ends with @example.com, you enter example.com.

Selector: A selector is added to the domain name and is used to find the DKIM public key information. This will usually be recman.

Size: This is the length of the record value. We recommend 2048 as this is the most secure, but in some cases, this is not supported, and 1024 has to be used.

Corporation: Choose on what corporation the DKIM is going to be active. In most cases, All is good.

DKIM

When the DKIM record is made, the DNS key and DNS value have to be added by the receiver. This will be in a TXT field on their domain.

Validation

After everything is set up, it’s important to validate that it is correct.

To check this, click the validation link on the record – DKIM record lookup.

If everything is good, the validation will display all green checkmarks.

Testing

DKIM

When the validation is done, the next will be to activate the DKIM records and send an email from the system. To test this, you can use https://dkimvalidator.com/ and send the email to the address generated, and then view the result. If everything is good, the DKIM field of the result will show pass.
