In this article, you can read about the Workforce insights (previously named Employees) module in RecMan BI.
Overview
The Workforce insights module is designed to provide a comprehensive multimonth grid view of all employees, showcasing various performance metrics and key data points. The module offers insights into employee-related information, such as Contribution Margin, Invoice, Vacation, Salary, Hours, Employment, Jobs, and Absence. It allows filtering, sorting, and customizing the data view based on specific criteria.
How to access
The Workforce insights module is accessible by hovering over the green RecMan BI icon. If you don't find it in your system, make sure it is activated in the System settings → Users (Co-workers). Contact your System administrator, who has all the required permissions.
Data points
The grid displays relevant data points and a total at the end. Using a dropdown menu, you can select a specific data point to view. For example, selecting Vacation will redraw the grid to display vacation data for each employee.
Filtering
The module supports advanced filtering capabilities by Data level. All employees are shown by default. You can add filters, specifying different criteria:
Quick filters:
- Only employees with data
- Active or not active employees
- Article types, such as Regular hours, Absence, Piecework, etc.
All filters: Corporation, Company, Department group, Department, Team, Project, Co-worker, or choose a particular Employee.
You can use several filters simultaneously.
You can also select a currency for financial data and compare different periods. There are two kinds of comparison: Percentage and Heat map. Using a heat map, you can switch to a high-contrast color scheme.
Sorting
The order of every column can be adjusted by clicking on its name. The icon of sorting in ascending-descending or alphabetical order appears.
Drawer
Certain elements, such as specific data in the spreadsheet, are clickable. Clicking on them will provide more detailed information in a right-drawer format. You can compare performance metrics, such as hours logged, contribution margin, etc., with those of the previous year.
Forecasting
The Workforce insights supports future forecasting for vital financial and operational data points, such as CM, CM%, Salary, Invoice, and Logged work. This tool provides invaluable predictive insight, helping you plan resources and budgets more effectively.
When you select a period that extends into the future, the system dynamically displays columns (months) with the projected data. You can set your forecast visibility using predefined periods (3, 6, 9, or 12 months), with a maximum forecasting period of 24 months. If the selected reporting period includes both past (actual) and future (forecasted) data, the corresponding cell will show the sum of the actual data and the forecasted data, ensuring a continuous and complete view of the metric.
