Common errors when publishing job posts

When publishing job advertisements, errors can occur. Here, you will find the most common and how to solve them.

This page shows error messages that may occur with the platforms RecMan has full integration with. Some other platforms can, for example, use e-mail as an integration method, and then the error message will rather come directly to your inbox. For a full overview, see this article.

Finn.no

Code Message / description
1   Error code: ToDate is too long
2 35 Occupation is required
3   Info: APPLICATION_DEADLINE - Invalid date
4   The TO date must be after the FROM date
5   TODATE - given date is too old
6   Email address
7   error: USER_REFERENCE - This field's length should be between 0 and 36

Possible solution/troubleshooting steps:

  1. Check that the "End date" is 42 days after the "Start date". Check the Application deadline field, which only accepts the date format (DD.MM.YYYY) or free text.
  2. Be sure to fill in the Job function field when you create the job advertisement in RecMan under Find on External job portals.
  3. This error message comes from the fact that the deadline has not been set to 42 days, which is the policy at Finn. Also, make sure that the date has the correct format (MM.DD.YYYY).
  4. This may occur if the advertising period of 42 days has passed. One solution is, therefore, to go to the job advertisement overview and copy the advertisement to post it again.
  5. Check that the Application deadline field in RecMan is filled in correctly either as free text or in the date format (DD.MM.YYYY).
  6. Check whether there is an e-mail address in the ad text field. It is forbidden. But you can enter it as example(at)company.no.
  7. This error message comes from the Employer field in the job advertisement being too long.

NAV Arbeidsplassen

Code Message / description
1   Advertisement not published
2 64 Problem: positions should be 1 or more at [Source: UNKNOWN; byte offset: #UNKNOWN]
  1. Advertisement not published - NAV has a robot that scans all job advertisements sent to them. If it is rejected, it will be marked as in the picture and forwarded to a case officer. The case officer reads through the job advertisement and checks that the advertisement satisfies all requirements set by law. If the ad is approved, however, the icon does not change.

  2. Add the number in the "number of positions" field.
