Creating shifts in RecMan

This article explains how to create shifts easily.

When managing your employees, creating and assigning them to shifts in RecMan is a great way to get an overview of your deployed and available resources at any given time in the employee calendar and will also improve the flow of information that your employees get regarding their upcoming work.

To get started with creating a shift, you can go to the staffing calendar and change the view to “project plan - month.” Here, you will be able to view all the staffing projects and click one of the dates to start adding your shifts. You can view a short introduction in the video below:

Viewing shifts in RecMan

For RecMan users, staying in the project plan lets you view all the shifts created on your projects, and you can view their status if they are: Green means ‘assigned,’ red means ‘unassigned,’ and the yellow color indicates that you have a mix of the two - usually that you need to go back and assign the remaining shifts.

If you want a more employee-oriented view, you can also navigate to the employee calendar and view those with assigned shifts as indicated by the blue color in their calendar. If you are unsure of any of the statuses shown here, you can click the (?) to view more information about those that are available.

Viewing your shifts as an employee

For employees, the best way to view your assigned shifts is by using the RecMan Employee app. This allows you to easily add your availability and view information regarding your shifts on the go.

For the example shown in RecMan Employee, the “employee note” and “location” on the project have been filled in to provide more information to the employee.

Alternatively, employees can also view their assigned shifts in the web portal (recman.page) as shown below:

If the information displayed in the web portal is insufficient, you can provide more by sending your employee a work agreement.
