This is a description of how to set up absence rules in Norway.
For the Norwegian market, it is possible to set up absence rules that automate some of the things that apply to absence registration. This setup is based on what applies according to laws and regulations, as well as which functions are to be used.
Note
If you include one or more Absence Rules in a salary and collective agreement or job, the employee will experience absences differently, in contrast to the absence of such rules. Without absence rules, the employee will be able to select the absence article manually from a drop-down menu and enter the time. When using absence rules, on the other hand, this drop-down menu disappears, and the employee only enters the time - where the rules themselves take care of what type of absence the record will result in.
The three rules
One or more absence rules can be built into a given salary and collective agreement. The purpose of this is to automate absence recording and achieve a degree of technical control. After you have added absence articles to the collective agreement, you will then be able to start building the rules. You can see an example of the articles included in the agreement below.
Self-report
This article must always be set to "Self-managed absence" so that it can count correctly in the absence logic.
Notice of illness
This article must be set to "Absence" and must be defined to follow the previous rule.
Sickness report NAV
This article must be set to "Absence."
Example
Once you have set up the rules as described above, you will end up with something that will look like the following:
