This article describes the Custom fields feature.
Custom fields are a powerful feature that gives you unprecedented flexibility in managing information across our platform. This feature allows to define and set values to custom fields for employees in the jobs module and employee calendar.
Key benefits
- Create unique fields tailored to your business needs
- Assign custom fields specific to different data objects
- Store critical information from a single, centralized view
Use case examples
- Track salary expectations: Capture and compare salary expectations across different roles and locations.
- Monitor language proficiency: Track candidate proficiency in multiple languages.
- Record work location preferences: Capture preferred work locations (remote, on-site, hybrid).
- Track candidate sources: Track where you found each candidate (e.g., job boards, referrals, social media).
How it works
Note
Only users with System Administrator permissions can manage the Custom fields. This article outlines the necessary steps in the System settings to enable this feature.
Use cases in recruitment and candidate management processes
Click the Custom fields button in the top-right corner to add extra data fields.
Once added, these fields become instantly available for all candidates in the pipeline.
It's possible to add new fields or select from your existing library of predefined fields built in System settings → Custom fields. Supported types include text, number, date, single-select, and more.
Use Filters to narrow down your results based on the custom fields. All custom field types are supported as filters:
- Single select – filter by one or more specific option values
- Multiple select – match candidates where selected options overlap
- Text – filter by an exact or partial text value
- Date – filter by a specific date or date range
- Number / Currency / Percentage – filter by exact value or range
You can stack multiple filters by clicking the + Add filter button. All active filters work together to show only candidates that match all selected criteria simultaneously.
When we open the Candidate Drawer, the selected Custom field will appear.
Custom fields might be the most useful in the List view. Here, all pipeline fields (project-level) and candidate fields (department-level) are available in the table. You can see the ones already selected for each candidate, or make your own selections. Do this by clicking a candidate's name to update it in the drawer or by clicking directly on the corresponding cell in the table.
These custom fields are available for the list of candidates and applicants (the next tab after the List). They're identical for the candidate and the applicant. When the applicant becomes a candidate, the custom fields automatically migrate to this candidate, so they're inherited from the applicant to the candidate.
Custom fields can be saved as part of a template to quickly configure fields for multiple projects.
