In this article, you may find out how to change some settings related to candidates in RecMan.
The Candidate settings (System Settings → Candidates) have several options. In this article, we will go through them one by one.
Candidate attributes
Candidate attributes are custom data fields that may be connected to candidates in RecMan. This allows specific filtering. An attribute can be applied to a candidate; however, it also works as a question for the candidate to answer. This means that you can share it with all your candidates, and they will be prompted with these attribute questions when they log into their profiles. Once answered, the attribute will be connected to their candidate card.
These answers may be shared with all candidates (as you can read about further down), or the attributes may be applied to a job ad. This means that any candidate applying for this specific job will be prompted with these questions once they have applied.
When clicking +Add, you get several options. The attributes should have a name and a type. The different types are as follows:
- Yes / no value – This enables you to select Yes or No when applying the attribute. An example could be C++ experience: Yes/no. This enables you to filter out customers who should receive your newsletter.
- Star-rating – This enables you to set a rating from 1-5 stars. You can, for instance, name the attribute Programming experience and then define how good the relationship is by setting the appropriate number of stars.
- Text – This field allows a free text field to be filled out together with the attribute. The input text will not be filterable; however, the attribute, in general, will be.
- Dropdown – This allows for a number of set options to be pre-defined, and each of these dropdown values will be filterable. Only one option may be selected.
- Multiple choice – Acts similar to Dropdown, but you are able to select several options.
- Shared with candidates – This is not a type of attribute; this simply defines whether the attribute should automatically be shared with all candidates, letting old and new candidates answer the attribute as a question. This does not apply the attribute to job ads, however.
By dragging and dropping, you are able to change the order of the attributes. This will change the order in which they appear when applying to a candidate or job post, and also in which order they will appear for candidates if Shared with candidates is enabled.
Once a candidate has an attribute applied, they will appear when filtering for attributes in the candidate base or in the staffing plan. Here is a dedicated article.
Attribute groups
An attribute group is a group where you can have several attributes. Let’s say you have an attribute group called Programmer; it would make sense for this group to contain attributes related to this.
The attributes group has one use in the system. Once created, the attribute groups will be available when you create a job post. Here, you can add an attribute instead of every single attribute. This means that any candidate applying for the position will get prompted for the attribute questions. This can be very helpful when finding the perfect candidate.
Presentations
The Presentations option lets you change the default of what information should be included in a candidate presentation. You may check or uncheck the boxes here to change which boxes are checked by default when creating a new presentation. Please note that you will always be able to disregard this default when actually creating your presentation.
Candidate card
Here, you can choose to add or remove some boxes on the candidate and employee card. Once clicked, you choose your corporation, which means you can have individual settings for each corporation. In the top box, you have the option to add and remove some fields on the candidate card:
- HPR number – This shows the box for HPR number lookup and check.
- Working hours – This allows you to set standard working hours for the candidate.
- Alternative salary art – Lets you set a standard alternative salary article for the candidate.
- Merge duplicate – Enables a box called Merge Duplicate. If a candidate has registered twice in the system, you have the ability to merge their profiles. Please note that this also requires permission to be set under the Co-Workers tab in System Settings.
The second box has several boxes, each indicating an Employee field. These will only be available once a candidate has been Approved For Staffing. By default, all these fields appear under the employee information. If you want to hide some fields, just check any boxes that are relevant to your corporation, and the unchecked ones will disappear from the Employee settings.
RecMan-Page
As with the last set, you get the option to choose between your corporation, maintaining a unique set of options for each corporation. The following options limit what the employees connected to the corporation do related to logging work. This is meant to limit the employees’ options when registering their work on their profiles.
Default Values
Once you click this, you get the option to choose a corporation, enabling you to keep a unique set of settings for each corporation.
When you Approve a candidate for Staffing, you get a whole new set of options. You can pre-define these options here, and each set corresponds with a setting on the employee card. Please note that this will only affect employees Approved for Staffing after doing the change; this will not change the values of existing employees.
